A female off-duty police officer has been charged after allegedly urinating on a war memorial in a major Sydney city park.

The constable, who is attached to a central metropolitan region police command, was charged with committing an offensive act on the War Memorial in Hyde Park.

It will be alleged she was seen urinating on the memorial by a security guard about 11pm yesterday.

The officer is due to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on August 5, police said in a statementtoday.
